Nissim prize for Excellence in Literature

THE NISSIM INTERNATIONAL PRIZE FOR EXCELLENCE IN LITERATURE was been instituted in August 2018 as a social outreach of NISSIM INDIA PVT LTD. Begun by Ms Satbir Chadha, wife of the chairman of the company, a known author and poet, it is an effort to encourage upcoming writers with talent.

In the year 2018 it was awarded to two young writers:

ELVIRA LOVO of Mumbai who wrote consistently brilliant poems about Autism, more than a hundred in number, very sensitive ones, and who also works for the cause of Autism and Thallasaemia

JOANNA SARAH KOSHY, an upcoming novelist whose story in the anthology SILHOUETTE 1 & 2, was a landmark in literature, as there is such gravity in her work and also a use of excellent language that is both simple but powerful

Both these awardees were given cash awards of Rs 10,000/- each.

Besides this, others were granted merit certificates.

AAKASH SAGAR CHOUHAN - For his pictorial poetry

JOIE BOSE - For her series of poems on love

MATHEW JASPER - For his poetry

MINERVA SHARMA - For her poetry

NEELADRI R CHAKRABORTY - For his Saki poems

WANI NAZIR - For his poetry

SURENDRA MOHAN DHIR - For his lifetime achievement
